Key Features

Essential Protection for Your Screen Deck

Nosing rubber, also commonly referred to as capping rubber, is a critical consumable for any vibrating screen. It sits directly on the camber bars of the stringer frame, acting as a shock-absorbing buffer between the steel frame and the screen cloth. Replacing worn nosing immediately is the most cost-effective way to prevent premature screen failure, maintain proper tension, and maximise your overall screen-cloth life.

Absorbs heavy impact and prevents damaging metal-on-metal wear.
Ensures proper seating and tensioning of the screening media across the deck.
Helps to reduce overall plant noise by dampening vibrations.
Available in both standard rubber and high-wear polyurethane options.

Polyurethane (PU) Nosing

For highly abrasive environments and heavy-duty applications, Screen Products offers capping manufactured from premium polyurethane.

Supplied in 1220mm and 1524mm or 15.24 meter rolls.
Polyurethane is significantly more robust and wears at a much slower rate than standard rubber, making it ideal for high-tonnage screening applications.

Maintenance and Cost Efficiency

Protecting Your Primary Screening Investment

Overlooking the condition of your nosing rubber is a common cause of premature screen failure. When the capping wears down, the screen cloth comes into direct contact with the steel camber bars. This metal-to-metal friction, combined with the extreme vibration of the deck, rapidly weakens the screen mesh and leads to breakages long before the screen has reached its natural wear life. Regular inspection and timely replacement of this inexpensive consumable is a minor maintenance task that yields significant cost savings by extending the life of your primary screening media.

The Foundation of Correct Tension

Proper tensioning is impossible if your screen is sitting on worn or uneven stringer bars. Our nosing rubber provides the consistent, elevated profile required to ensure the screen cloth curves correctly over the deck. This allows for even tensioning across the entire surface, which eliminates dead spots, prevents flutter, and maximises your total screening efficiency.
